Capital city of Katur, and home to the royal family. This large metropolis is home to over 30000 inhabitants, and is the second most racially diverse city, only losing to Port Serua. It is well known for its vigilant guard force, though crimes still occur from time to time. The city is also perhaps the most defensible city in Katur, as the entire city is surrounded by a mighty wall, only accessible through 4 gates, Arctos to the north, Saphon to the south, Argest to the west, and Boreas to the east. Each of these gates can be closed from inside the walls if necessary.
Plenor is home to a wide variety of shops and stalls in its marketplace. Many people claim that you can find anything you desire in the Plenor marketplace. There are a few guilds in the city, most prominently the Warrior’s Guild and the Expedition Guild. Due to the general lack of belief in deities in Katur, there is only a single temple in the city, with only a few shrines that aren’t devoted to any god in particular. There is no prison inside the city, aside from a few cells in the guard barracks. Instead, prisoners are transported to the prison in Valdrezi City. Anyone may enter the palace, though they may be turned away by the King’s mother and advisor, Maria, especially if their business is something that will not interest the King. Anyone entering the palace must have their weapons peacebound, or surrender them to the guards.
Plenor has existed for several hundred years, though it has changed greatly since its creation. It was built by an elven king, who ruled over much of what would later be known as Katur. During his son’s rule, an invasion of orcs from the barbarian tribes north of the city managed to push the elves out of their city. After a dozen years of combat, a mighty human army, lead by a man who called himself King Vaeryn, came to aid the elves in their war against the orcs. The elves were successful, though they lost all members of their royal lineage in the process. As thanks for the aid Vaeryn lent them, they crowned him king. He was the one who ordered construction of many of Plenor City’s defenses, including the wall (though it would not be completed until halfway through his son’s rule).
